What Does it Cost?
It is important to recognise the difference between a drive about in a taxi and real Cotswolds Touring with an historically knowledgeable English Cotswolds Tour Guide. The costs are similar, which makes mine even more reasonable than they are, ( see below ), for the following reasons.
A taxi will not know where to take you to the hidden treasures villages, and social skills are not always found in taxis. These are very much a part of my services & you will find that they will enhance yr enjoyment of the social event.
Cotswolds Touring is not a business taxi drivers are experienced in or know very much about. To do it properly you should have a dedicated Cotswolds Tour Guide.
As a rule full days comprise a minimum of 8 hours with no extra charge for overuns ( I'm not a clockwatcher) & can start from Moreton in Marsh railway station ( timetables from London www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/traintimes ) or at your London hotel or any other location. In the latter case, for a party of 4 to 6 guests, this can be, not only cost effective to start there by avoiding train & London taxi fares, 'though it costs some extra with Michael, but also it allows visits en-route to, for example, Runnymede-on-Thames (Magna Carta 1215), Windsor Castle & onwards to the dreaming spires of Oxford where the 36 beautiful University Colleges which make up Oxford University amount to a textbook of English architecture from the Middle Ages to the present day.
Tour Guiding day rate is £350 per touring day.We can, at times, offer a shorter touring day of 5 hours at £275. Five hours is really the minimum time you should allow to achieve an enjoyable, if somewhat brief, tour in the Cotswolds. It is the minimum allowing you time for lunch at a beautiful country pub.
Payment options are by credit or debit cards, cash or travellers cheques. Send your initial enquiry to michael.neilan1@btopenworld.com or telephone 01386 584468, from abroad 0044 1386584468. Cellphone 07976 208787 from abroad 0044 7976 208787
The costs are per party not per person & include all Tour Guide expenses. They do not include meals, entry fees or parking charges, gratuities or Tour Guide overnights, if any, which are an additional £100 per night if required at London or anywhere farther afield in the UK. Overnight costs, of course, are not applicable to the entire Cotswolds Area. All charges are for Tour Guiding services only & those in connection with or for the promotion of such by way of demonstration. There is no charge, or part of any charge, made for driving as a private hire taxi or as a chauffeur service. Those are not services that are offered, advertised or provided by me. I am an English Tour Guide my business is Travel & Tourism.
