MICHAEL ALSO COVERS AREAS OF ENGLAND FARTHER AFIELD - Saturday, November 26, 2011

If your visit to England is to cover areas other than The Glorious Cotswolds I'm your man. Recently I have been touring in North & South Devon & the beautiful coast & coves of Cornwall. I have also, last summer, covered North Wales & Chester, The Peak District, The Yorkshire Dales & The Lakes District & on into Scotland at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fort William, Inverness & The Isle of Skye. I am frequently at London & from there we have toured out into the county of Kent, rich in stately homes and gardens and where you can, for example, visit Chartwell the family home of Winston Churchill & lived in by Winston & family between 1922 & his death in 1965. Longer tours of Great Britain are also a speciality.

What do we do in The Cotswolds?

Michael Neilan has become known at home and abroad, especially in the United States, as the foremost English Tour Guide for sightseeing visitors to the Glorious Cotswolds.

It all  began in 1990 when Michael resigned the business of Lloyd’s Underwriting and midweek life in London's village of Chelsea in favour of life amongst the horses and Jack Russell Terriers in Stanton an  almost ridiculously beautiful medieval village of limestone cottages and Manor Houses hidden away in the North Cotswolds Hills.

Michael has lived in the Cotswolds, initially in the lovely village of Snowshill, since 1975 and  full time along with his marvellous wife, Angela, since 1981 at Broad Campden and currently at Stanton where they bought Shenberrow Hill, a horse farm, in 1986.

*Touring Sightseeing

*Cotswolds Gardens

*Medieval Churches

The service offered is that of Personalised Cotswolds Touring Driver-Guide to small groups of independent travellers. The maximum in any group is six persons, either from one family or at times being friends travelling together, but parties of any smaller size are welcome.

It is always possible to accommodate larger parties but this sometimes necessitates 2 vehicles & 2 guides. Parties of 8 can usually be accommodated in a hired 9 seater. Michael, as your personal Tour Guide, will arrange days of interest & scenes to savour that suit your interests be it visiting Castles and stately homes or Palaces or beautiful English Country House Gardens, Manor Houses or Antiques hunting. If you have no preconceptions you can just leave it to me to unfold the secret treasures of this wonderful land !

There is also to be discovered many beautiful Medieval village Churches . Additionally, simply by touring Cotswolds Villages, you will achieve an overview of what life is like in the land that time seems to have forgotten, the wonderful land of stream and stone. A cradle of English medieval history.

All the touring days proceed at the time and at a pace that suits you, there are no deadlines.

These days out are Cotswolds Tours personalised for you the guests. We shall follow in the footsteps of the many Kings, Queens, Knights & their Ladies, Artists, Painters, Photographers and Arts and Crafts practitioners who have been here touring the Glorious Cotswolds from time immemorial to the present day. We will visit English wonders and historic stonebuilt villages and also places such as;

 *Kenilworth Castle

 *Warwick Castle

 *Manor Houses

 *Bath

 *Stonehenge

London has villages too !

It is not so widely known that London is an amalgam of villages that over centuries have grown into the city that is London today, Mayfair, Bayswater, Notting Hill, Kensington, South Kensington, Chelsea, Pimlico and Belgravia to name a few all have subtley differing atmospheres

Having lived in London’s Thameside village of Chelsea for many years Michael will also cover London and its environs, if you like, and link these sort of days to Cotswolds Touring days perhaps one or two London area days followed by two or three more touring in the Cotswolds or, if desired even into Wales or farther afield up to The Lakes District and The Yorkshire Dales and even onwards into and around Scotland.

Michael will in fact extend any tours to take in anywhere in England, Wales or Scotland.
