Tour the Cotswolds with Michael and live for a while in the timeless land of stream & stone !

The Cotswolds hills are quintessentially English. There is nowhere else in England where landscape and architecture harmonise so perfectly. Cottages, Farms, Manor Houses & Churches all built from the local oolitic limestone seem to have literally grown up out of the ground. They seem to glimmer golden with the lost sunlight of centuries and the overall effect is that of a magical domain lost in its own timescale. Indeed the wonderful illusion is that time really has forgotten the Glorious Cotswolds and left the area preserved as in a dream of a bygone age. It is an Artist’s and Photographer’s paradise. There is a magical "Brigadoon" effect !

The Cotswolds are great, but, only with Michael Neilan. Two weeks ago we were lucky enough to be introduced to the Cotswolds by an expert introducer, Michael Neilan

What made our visit special was Michael's personal interest in making sure we saw the true Cotswolds, and we surely did. There are a couple of reasons for this. First we visited only smaller villages and towns and were personally introduced to townspeople everywhere. Michael seems to know everyone and vice versa. Whether it was in pubs, retail shops, or just strolling down the street we met people who knew him. Second we traveled only backroads through the countryside. No hustle and bustle just total immersion into the fiber of the Cotswolds. Not once did we see a tour bus or group of tourists. Third Michael knows the historical importance and context for most everything we saw. There is nothing we like more than a learning-vacation and Michael was a great instructor.

If you have interest in a thoroughly customized Cotswolds tour Michael should be your first and only consideration. He, his wife Angela and wonderdog Master Pip will make it a time to savor.
